I'm Kimberley, therapist and bookseller.

Thank you so much for visiting my little bookshop, I hope you find this space to be a comforting and magical corner of the internet where your own imagination might flourish.

​

The idea for this little shop-on-wheels started in the Scottish countryside, where I live with my husband and our three dogs. Access to bookshops - a crucial space for literature and community -  in our rural areas is quite limited and so I decided that I wanted to find a way of bringing books to people. 

​

Alongside my work as a psychotherapist, I have also had the privilege of working in a small bookshop in our local town. On these days I have often contemplated the similarities between reading and therapy. 

​

These ideas, coupled with my love of reading and recommending books to people, have since blossomed into The Whimsy Bookshop - my own little travelling literary apothecary, where words are prescribed as remedy for all of life's ailments. 

​

As well as being an avid reader and lover of all things books, I spend much of my time wandering the Scottish countryside, gathering inspiration for my own writing and watercolour art, which both feature in my little shop too.

 

My hope for my travelling bookshop is that it will provide inspiration and encouragement for people looking to try something new with their reading; that it might offer a place of quiet literary escape and wholesome community; and a little bit of bookish magic to brighten a person's day.
